    Judaism 101 with Rabbi Silberstein

    Sunday, Feb 23rd 10:00a to 11:30a
    The class will meet weekly on Sunday mornings at Bais Abe from 10-11:30am, beginning January 5, 2020, except on Jewish holidays, the day before Jewish holidays, or on civil holiday weekends. This class is for anyone who wants to make up for the Jewish education they didn't get growing up. It is appropriate for those interested in conversion to Judaism, for those who are curious to learn more about Judaism, and for Jews who simply want to deepen their understanding of the Jewish tradition. Students will gain the knowledge of Jewish beliefs, history, culture and practice necessary to be able to participate fully in the life of the Jewish community. Enrollment in and completion of this course do not indicate or guarantee acceptance as a conversion candidate by Rabbi Silberstein or by any other rabbi or Beit Din.     Text & Textile: Eat-Craft-Learn

    Come learn with Rabbi Silberstein while knitting, crocheting, or doing the craft of your choice. The topic of the class is "Troubled Hero: Unpacking the Perplexing Story of Shimshon (Samson)." The first 15-20 minutes of class will be spent helping beginners get started on an engaging project (please bring your own yarn and knitting needles for the beginner's project). More experienced crafters can bring their own project to work on if preferred. Light snacks will be served. All are welcome

    “The Novel Coronavirus 2019”

    All are invited to an informational program at Bais Abraham by infectious disease specialists Drs. Morey Gardner, Tessa Gardner, Michael Gutwein, and Greg Storch. They will give an overview of the virus, public health issues, reasonable precautions people can take when traveling, and more. Rabbi Garth Silberstein will add a Jewish/halachic perspective. There will be a question and answer period as well.
