Deadline for return of chometz sale forms-Please fill out the Chometz sale form if you would like to sell your chometz through Rabbi Shafner.  You can mail or email them back or feel free to call the Shul 721-3030 and make an appointment with Rabbi Shafner to sell your chometz in person.

Friday April 22-Erev Pesach

Fast of the First Born-Fast begins 4:44 a.m.

6:30am Shacharit, followed by Siyum (finishing of a tractate of Talmud) celebration and breakfast, firstborn who attend this may eat.

Stop eating chometz by 10:43am

11:15am Everyone is invited to burn their chometz at the Shafner home and make the once a year blessing on a flowering fruit tree during the month of Nisan, 6900 Amherst Ave.

Biur Chometzbefore 11:51am - Burn any chometz found in the search.

Millstone Campus Mikvah is open for men 1-4pm

Candle lighting for Passover and Shabbat 7:27pm

Mincha/Mariv 7:25pm

Seder Kiddush should not be recited before 8:14pm

 

Saturday, April 23-First day of Passover

Eat Seudah Shlishit, the third meal of Shabbat, at home

Make an Eruv Tavshilin-2 cooked foods, one boiled and one baked (e.g. an egg and a matza), put aside to be eaten on Shabbat enabling one to cook on Yom Tov for Shabbat.

FOR SALE OF CHOMETZ

 

I, the undersigned, fully empower and permit Rabbi Hyim Shafner to act in my place and stead, and in my behalf to sell all Chometz (leaven) possessed by me (knowingly or unknowingly) as defined by the Torah and Rabbinic Law (e.g., Chometz, any possible Chometz, and all kinds of Chometz mixtures), as well as Chometz that tends to harden and to adhere to a surface of inside of pans, pots, and cooking and usable utensils, and all kinds of live animals that have been eating Chometz or mixtures thereof, and to lease all places wherein the Chometz owned by me may be found, especially in the premises indicated below and elsewhere including in my vehicles.

 

Rabbi Hyim Shafner has the full right to sell and to lease by any transactions, as he deems fit and proper and for such time which he believes necessary. I hereby give Rabbi Hyim Shafner full power and authority to appoint a substitute in his stead with full power to sell and lease as provided herein. The above given power is in conformity with all Torah, Rabbinical regulations and laws, and also in accordance with the laws of the State of Missouri and of the United States.
